Deals of the Week - New 2020 Models!

Well it's finally here...the Defender has been off the production line since January 2016, but it's back at last, with this new sensational model.

The Defender is one of a very select group of vehicles that will forever hold a place in the hearts of all car enthusiasts. As perhaps the most iconic vehicle to ever drive on four wheels, it proudly flies the flag for British engineering. This latest model takes all that the Defender is loved for, and incorporates all the latest technology and flawless design work that you would expect from a modern Land Rover. Therefore, it still has that classic look, it still has unrivalled off-road capabilities and it still has that sturdy exterior, but, at the same time, you now get the options of heated leather seats, a top of the range infotainment system,... and there's also soon to be a plug-in hybrid version.

Further sticking to tradition, you still get the choice of either the two-door Defender 90 or the four-door Defender 110. Both the 90 and the 110 are available in five different specs, moving upwards in quality each time, according to the modern Jaguar Land Rover naming system:

  • Defender: The base spec comes with 18" gloss white steel wheels, all-season tyres, fabric heated front seats, LED headlights, 10" Pivi Pro, Smartphone Pack, Connected Navigation Pro, 6 speaker sound system, 360⁰ parking aid, cruise control and terrain response.
  • Defender S: The first upgrade is to the S, which adds 19" gloss silver 6-spoke alloy wheels, grained leather heated front seats, Auto High Beam Assist, centre console with armrest and Interactive Driver Display with the Pivi Pro.
  • Defender SE: Next up is the SE, which adds 20" gloss silver 5-spoke alloy wheels, memory front seats, premium LED headlights with signature DRL, front fog lights, keyless entry, Meridian 10 speaker sound system with subwoofer and Blind Spot Assist features.
  • Defender HSE: Upgrading further to the HSE adds 20" gloss dark grey 5-split-spoke alloy wheels, Windsor leather seats, heated steering wheel, matrix LED headlights and Driver Assist Pack. Furthermore, the 90 HSE comes with a folding fabric roof and the 110 HSE comes with a sliding panoramic roof.
  • Defender X: Finally, upgrading to the X adds 20" satin dark grey 5 spoke alloy wheels, heated & cooled front seats, heated rear seats, Meridian 14 speaker sound system with subwoofer, head-up display, black contrast roof & bonnet, premium cabin lighting, terrain response 2, configurable terrain response and all terrain progress control. Furthermore, the 90 gets its upgrade to the sliding panoramic roof.

As well as this, there's also the First Edition and a multitude of accessory packs that you can add to the Defender (Explorer, Adventure, Country & Urban). Be sure to get in touch for more details.

The release of the EQC marks a monumental moment for the motor industry, as Mercedes finally take their first dip into the fully-electric market, thus signalling that the electric revolution is well and truly coming into its stride. This is of course only the beginning for them, as the Mercedes EQ range will surely grow expeditiously over the coming years. However, they've chosen to start with the EQC - based dimension wise on the ever popular GLC.

Is it worth the extra to upgrade from the GLC to the EQC? Yes. 100%. The electric engine makes a huge difference, both in terms of money and driver experience, offering a near enough silent drive with 204bhp and a 0-62 of 5.1 seconds. As well as this, there are also a few subtle design changes, as the EQC's exterior design is a lot sleeker and more streamlined than that of the GLC, and the interior looks a lot livelier and more upmarket. It is overall a very appealing model that is sure to do extremely well for years to come.

The EQC comes in four different core models, moving upwards in quality:

  • Sport: The base trim is the Sport, which comes with 19" 5-twin-spoke alloy wheels, heated seats with lumbar seats, LED headlights, MBUX 10.25" voice-controlled infotainment system, Active Park Assist with reversing camera, Blind Spot Assist and privacy glass.
  • AMG Line: The even sportier AMG Line offers several sporty alterations. You get 20" AMG multi-spoke alloy wheels, AMG sports seats in leather, running boards and AMG-specific black panel radiator grille.
  • AMG Line Premium: The AMG Line Premium gets all the sporty design features of the AMG Line plus several spec improvements. It gets 21" AMG multi-spoke alloy wheels, Parking Package with Active Parking Assist & 360° camera, electric sliding sunroof, Burmester surround sound system, MBUX augmented reality for navigation, ENERGIZING Package and smartphone integration.
  • AMG Line Premium Plus: Finally, with the AMG Line Premium Plus, you get the AMG Line Premium along with memory seats and head-up display.

Mercedes have also created two more special editions (Edition 1 & Edition 1886), as a special tribute to their long and successful history.

We've now got all six versions of the EQC available on our website - all with fantastic discounts. Click here to view these offers. This includes the tech-laden AMG Line Premium, offering everything that you could ever want for a drive that is both modern & luxurious at the same time. Find our latest rentals on this car below.

Wait. This ain't a Puma...

Yep it is. Ford have released a brand-new model, confusingly with the same name as their short-lived compact coupe from the late 1990s. Alike its namesake, the new Puma is based on Britain's most popular car - the Fiesta, but instead of shrinking it down into a 3-door coupe, it's been beefed up into a big, chunky, modern SUV with a mild petrol hybrid engine.

This brand new car looks set to be a big hit with drivers - offering the trademark value for money & reliability of a Ford in a swanky new design with a load of modern technology, even in the lower specs. Furthermore, with its mild hybrid engine, it is a fantastic alternative to the many other compact SUVs out there, that is cheaper to run and more eco friendly.

So far, Ford have announced that the Puma is available in three different models:

  • Titanium: The Titanium is, for now, the base spec, with 17" 10-spoke alloy wheels, lumbar massage front seats, projector headlamps with LED daytime running lights, Ford SYNC 3 Navigation with 8" touchscreen display, rear parking sensors, pre-collision assist, hill start assist, wireless charging pad and centre console with armrest.
  • ST-Line: Upgrading to the ST-Line takes the Titanium and adds a sporty twist. You get 17" 5x2-spoke alloy wheels, full digital 12.3" instrument cluster and ST-Line bodykit with large rear spoiler & sports suspension.
  • ST-Line X: Finally, upgrading to the ST-Line X adds 18" 5-spoke alloy wheels, partial leather trim, rear privacy glass, B&O Premium Audio System, Electronic Air Temperature Control & carbon look interior.

There is also a choice of two different engines. offering 125ps or 155ps break horsepower. Both of these engines perform exceptionally well in terms of fuel economy, offering a combined fuel economy of around 51.4mpg and 50.4mpg, respectively.
