B Class beginnings

These mini-MPVs were first introduced in 2005 as a Mercedes B-Class, and they were few and far between. Today the mini-MPV class is brimming with rivals; so as well as being incredibly practical Mercedes have gone on to improve fuel economy levels and technological features in the models.

B Class fuel economy

The B-Class offers up three diesel models and two petrol’s from which to choose and it’s the diesels that offer the most efficiency. Though the petrol’s can’t match the digits of the diesels, both the 1.6-litre B180 and B200 return 50.4mpg economy; they emit 129 and 130g/km of CO2 respectively.

B Class equipment

SE – The B Class SE is an accomplished all-rounder. Very high spec for an entry model with leather upholstery, reversing camera, 7” Colour screen media display electric front and rear windows, Led Lights and cruise control and collision prevention assist.

Sport – As well as that extra bit of power the Sport model of the B Class includes upgraded features with upgraded 17” alloys, visible twin tailpipes, ambient lighting, Rain sensing windscreen wipers, 8” media display and automatic climate control.

AMG Line – The ultimate luxury and sporty refinement comes in form of the AMG Line. This model is equipped with 18” alloys, AMG body styling, comfort suspension, upgraded leather interior, AMG Sports pedals with rubber mats and AMG Sports Steering Wheel.

Practicality

Incredibly spacious in both the front and back making it comfortable for 5 people to occupy without feeling cramped. This is also helped by the excellent boot size which offers 486 litres of space and fold down rear seats to allow for 1545 litres.

The Mercedes B class has a very high occupant safety record obtaining full 5 stars from Euro NCAP crash tests. Collision Prevention Assist is now standard across ALL models now which automatically brakes if the car senses a crash.
