In the most recent weeks, Jaguar Land Rover has confirmed that they will be introducing a whole new range of SVR, including a new hybrid and flagship SVR.
Following the success of the new Range Rover Velar, Jaguar Land Rover have lifted the interior from their latest model and dropped it into the Sport.
The range overhaul is also a tip of the cap the change in the automotive industry, as Jaguar Land Rover try and electrify their model offering.
But aside from trying to make the planet greener, Land Rover’s Special Vehicle Operations somewhat disregards that philosophy, focusing solely on performance. The 5.0-litre V8 super charged engine is the company’s most powerful yet. Generating 575bhp and 700Nm of talk – an increase of 25bhp – allows the SVR to bullet from 0 – 60 in just 4.3 seconds.
As a result of the increased speed, Jaguar Land Rover have said they have spent extra efforts in improving the chassis. A lot of emphasis has been placed on improving the pitch and handling of the suspension, as well as controlling the movement under heavy braking and acceleration.
But, in reality, the most notable change to the range is the new interior. There has been bags of technology added to the interior. The centre console is now a touch screen, glossy unit that bursts with contemporary design. Its intuitive and simplistic, tidying away obtrusive buttons without losing any of its functionality. Additionally, the materials used to create the dash make for a notable upgrade, which gives a far more luxurious feel. Even the old buttons on the steering wheel have been modernised, again enhancing their feel.
It’s a big change, given that Range Rover hasn’t really made significant changes to their interior in many, many years.
Smaller notable changes have been made to the headlights and grill, which will be more noticeable to fans of the Range Rover product.
For fans of the Range Rover Sport, it’s a big deal. Make no mistake, these changes are an improvement on an already hugely popular luxury SUV.
