Voted the What Car? 2020 best executive car the Skoda Superb Hatchback is in a league of its own with extended rear legroom, high build quality, and a huge, stunning interior. Inside the cabin gloss, black and chrome accents add an air of sophistication with an 8-inch infotainment system with DAB radio, Bluetooth, and built-in sat-nav as standard, which is an upgrade on the 6.5-inch screen on most other standard Skoda models. Passengers get as much leg space as the driver who also gets a generous seat with easy driving wheel adjustment. For boot space there are 625 litres with the seats up, which is pretty impressive, extending to a massive 1,760 litres of space when the back seats are folded down.
Luxurious Models
There are five premium models to choose from in the Skoda Superb Hatchback range: SE, SE Technology, SE L, Sportline Plus, L&K.
SE: As standard, the entry-level Superb comes with 17-inch Stratos alloy wheels, adaptive cruise control, front and rear parking sensors, and dual climate control.
SE Technology: In addition, this model comes with leather upholstery and heated front seats, blind-spot protection, and Amundsen satellite navigation with an 8-inch touchscreen display.
SE L: Key features include 18-inch Zenith alloy wheels, full Matrix LED headlights with LED daytime running lights, and dynamic indicators and lighting animations.
Sportline Plus: This sporty model includes 19-inch Vega alloy wheels, exterior gloss black sports styling, carbon optic interior elements, and Columbus satellite navigation with a 9.2-inch touchscreen.
L&K: Tops spec is the L&K Skoda Superb with 18-inch Propus Aero anthracite alloy wheels with anti-theft wheel bolts and Columbus satellite navigation with 9.2 touchscreen display with 3D maps.
Plenty of Engine Choice
From a starter 1.5 litre petrol engine with 150hp to a powerful 2.0 TSI 272hp petrol engine option with 4x4 DSG drive, there is also a choice of 2.0 TDI diesel engines ranging from190 to 200hp, with a hybrid option now available that combines a 1.4 petrol engine with an electric motor to offer 218hp and impressive combined fuel efficiency of 212.4mpg! In its element, while driving around town the Skoda Superb hatch offers precise and light steering with great visibility for fitting into those tight spots. From the SEL model upwards you can also switch between driving modes with sport mode offering the thrill and heightened gearbox response of driving a sports car. On the motorway, the engine remains quiet while every drive is as comfortable and luxurious as the last one. For easy driving Skoda's lane assist additional option combines with adaptive cruise control (available on the SE trim upwards) to do the accelerating and braking for you and to keep your car in your lane on the motorway; what more could you want?
