An Excellent Family Car
The Golf Hatch is recognisably Volkswagen but with a cleaner and more innovative design from the inside out. Sitting lower to the ground with a leaner front grille and narrow LED headlights the new Golf packs more presence and responsive performance on the road. Inside the adjustable driver's seat puts you at the forefront of the action with robust interior design and fewer buttons to help navigate the Innovision Cockpit dashboard with ease. The infotainment system has a generous 10-inch touchscreen that is mounted high up and in easy reach when driving. When it comes to space, generous headroom will allow for two tall adults to sit as passengers in the back seat. For boot space, there is an adjustable boot floor allowing for two separate storage compartments and a capacity to hold 380 litres with the seats up and 1,237 litres maximum capacity when the 60/40 folding seats are flat down. Out on the road, the new Golf Hatch incorporates Volkswagen's helpful Driver Assist system including Park Assist, Travel Assist, and Adaptive Cruise Control to help make driving and maneuvering into those tight spaces less tiring. For peace of mind and added safety for yourself and the whole family, the new Volkswagen Golf has also been awarded the highest score of five stars in the Euro NCAP crash test.
Enhancing Everyday Errands
The Volkswagen Golf Hatch is available in three model trims: Life, Style, and R-Line.
Life - As standard the starting Golf Hatch Life trim features 16-inch Norfolk alloy wheels, decorative 'Nature Cross brushed' inserts to the dashboard and front door panels, Volkswagen's Light and Sight pack, interior ambient lighting with 10 colours to choose from to suit your mood and adaptive cruise control for easy driving.
Style - For refined comfort and added luxury the Golf Style includes 17-inch Belmont alloy wheels, ambient lighting is upgraded to a choice of 30 colours, decorative interior inserts are in brushed dark metal, climatronic 3-zone rear air conditioning control panel keeps all passengers cool while there are 'Art Velours' to the seat centre and LED 'Plus' headlamps.
R-Line - Top of the Golf 8 family is the sporty Golf 8 R-Line that has dynamic and refined styling including R-Line body-coloured bumpers, front sports seats, 17-inch Valencia grey metallic alloy wheels, 65% tinted glass at the rear from the B-pillar backward and driving profile selection.
Travel in Comfort and Style
Easier to drive than ever before the new Volkswagen Golf 8 is available in a range of petrol, diesel, and mild-hybrid engines with a choice of manual or automatic gearboxes. For running errands around town, the 1.5-litre TSI 130 petrol engine is smooth and economical. But should you be doing more motorway driving the 1.5 TSI 150 petrol with 148 hp manages 0-62mph in 8.5 seconds, thanks to a six-speed manual gearbox that builds speed on the motorway with ease. The handy option of adding adaptive suspension with Volkswagen's Dynamic Chassis Control will provide three main driving settings of comfort, normal and sport that will adapt the suspension for each drive. The Volkswagen Golf Hatch’s light steering is great for trips around town while progressive brakes allow for easy braking and an efficient and comfortable drive.
