R-Design: The R-Design XC90 is finished with 20-inch 5 Spoke Diamond Cut Black alloy wheels with twin exhaust pipes, metal mesh inlays, touring chassis, and high-performance sound.
Inscription: For a premium vehicle the Inscription offers elegant luxury including 10-inch 10 spoke diamond cut black alloy wheels, grey ash inlays, driver alert control with the lane-keeping system, 12.3-inch display with touring chassis, and Sensus Connect with high-performance sound.
Practical, Safe, and Fun
The Volvo XC90 is available in a choice of two petrol engines and one diesel with also a hybrid available in the range. For motorway drivers or those who mix between city and country roads the B5 diesel returns around 44mpg with a mild hybrid system of 48v that saves energy when breaking. For petrol lovers, there are two 2.0 litre petrol engines with the T5 and T6 engines that make less noise when accelerating but have a lower mpg. If you are looking for a plug-in hybrid then the T8 Volvo XC90 mixes a 2.0 litre petrol engine with an 11.8kWh electric battery motor to deliver a very impressive 390hp and claimed fuel economy of 80mpg. Every model is available in four-wheel drive with an eight-speed automatic gearbox. On the road, the Volvo XC90 is surprisingly nimble for a large SUV with light steering and great visibility. For parking, you can also opt to add a 360-degree parking camera for peace of mind.
