The good news is that Audi really works hard on the comfort aspect. Although we’d concede that we believe the Mercedes C-Class does feel you’d be more comfortable over a longer journey, Audi have worked hard on the customisation and quality of the cabin. It starts with the seating. With some of the premium trim levels, such as the S-Line and S4, the seats really wrap around you and keep you cocooned in your driving position. The napa leather is of the highest quality we’ve seen from its competitors. It feels so soft, its almost velvet to the touch, which provides you with a real sense of prestige quality. And that sense of quality continues throughout the cabin. Cheap, rough feeling plastics are few and far between. Instead, soft materials and refined switches make up the large majority of everything around you. Couple that with the new minimalist dashboard combined with the Audi Cockpit, and it all adds up to a very exclusive, modern interior.

There’s plenty of space too. What’s most noticeable is that the low sills and wide door apertures really add space in the rear seating. The curved shape of the paneling on the rear of the seats creates further space for passengers 6 foot plus. Additionally, you’ll be equipped with a boot which is on a par with the BMW 3 Series.

Overall the Audi A4 offers a vast array of customisation. If you spend the time looking at all the options, including the suspension, you’ll have a very accomplished vehicle that looks as good as anything on the road and drives with comfort and precision.
