Audi A5 Sportback Leasing
Hugely Popular; Why the Audi A5 is the Car for You
The Audi A5 Sportback is a five-door extension of the much-desired A5 Coupe, lending the sportier relative an air of sophisticated practicality. There’s plenty of room for kids in the rear, although space for adults is limited, and the car drives with refinement - especially those models fitted with quattro all-wheel-drive. Inside the A5 Sportback is amongst the fanciest on the market, and the engine options offer economical solutions for all drivers.
A Design that Blends Sporty Looks with Practicality
The main difference between the A5 Sportback and its Coupe cousin is the Sportback’s extra doors in the rear and a lifted rear end that both increase practical utility whilst playing nicely with the A5’s good looks. Overall, the car looks very much like the coupe from which it evolved. The car’s interior is smooth and relatively minimal, with simple controls and a clean layout complemented by expanses of pleasingly soft materials. The infotainment system is controlled using Audi’s signature scroll wheel, and an optional Virtual Cockpit system adds a 12.3-inch screen for sat-nav, media, speedometer and rev counter.
The A5 Provides Trim Levels for all
The A5 Sportback is offered in two of Audi’s basic - but nevertheless very well-equipped - trim lines; namely, Sport and S Line.
The Sport is the entry model, and comes with a fair amount of kit including:
- 17” alloy wheels
- Xenon headlights equipped with LED daytime-running lights
- Rear parking sensors
- Three-zone climate control
- 7.0-inch multimedia screen
- Sat-nav
- 10 audio system speakers
- Audi Smartphone Interface
- Cruise control
- Leather upholstery
- Front sports seats
- A leather-trimmed sport steering wheel with gearshift paddles on automatic models
- Keyless ignition
Progress to the S Line, and enjoy further features such as:
- 18-inch alloy wheels
- A 20mm lower ride height
- LED front and rear lights
- S-embossed seats with lumbar support
- Alcantara faux suede and leather and leather upholstery
How it Handles and Performs
There is a wide choice of engines available for the Audi A5 Sportback, with petrol engines starting at a 1.4-litre 148bhp through two 2.0-litre versions offering 187bhp or 249bhp respectively. The top-of-the-range engine is a 3-litre twin-turbo V6, delivering 349bhp. All models bar two - the S5 and RS 5 - come with a seven-speed S tronic gearbox - the two special cases are equipped with an eight-speed Tiptronic box.
- Standard engines sizes: 1.4-litre TDI; 2.0-litre TDI
- 0-62mph: 8.9 seconds; 7.9 seconds
- MPG: 52.3; 68.9
Almost all models of the A5 Sportback come with a sturdy quattro all-wheel-drive system which, although only truly necessary in trickier situations than most UK drivers are likely to encounter, does add a heightened feeling of safety, gripping and keeping full control on windy B-roads. At speed, the car drives in pleasing silence as the cabin is well-insulated from outside noise, and handles with an impressive degree of control. Drivers who enjoy a little more weight in the steering can switch the A5 Sportback into a heavier setting using the Drive Select button, with Comfort and Sport modes altering the firmness of the ride.
