The BMW 5 Series Saloon has a powerful presence on the road with a low roof line that slopes to the rear, a uniform kidney grille and headlights combined with intelligent design and controls that are angled towards the driver. BMW digital services connect with the outside world for a seamless driving experience that offers comfort, safety and productivity. Driving Assistant plus adapts to a range of driving situations from stop-start traffic to Lane Assistant and Active Cruise Control. Parking has also never been easier with Parking Assistant Plus with 3D view and futuristic Remote Control Parking that allows the driver to exit the vehicle before parking the BMW 5 Series Saloon via the BMW Display Key. Inside comfort is the main focus with a supportive drivers seat and electric seat controls with memory for different driver's positions and plenty of steering wheel adjustment. Equipped with BMW's range topping Professional Multimedia system an impressive 12.3-inch touch sensitive widescreen with satellite navigation, DAB Radio and a 20GB harddrive to hold your music. Whats the Specification?
The BMW 5 Series Saloon is available in two model lines: SE and M Sport.
SE: The entry level BMW 5 Series Saloon has LED headlights and 17-inch light alloy wheels with an update to 18-inch light alloy wheels on some models. Inside there is heated seats to the front, luxurious Dakota leather upholstery, ambient interior lighting and BMW Live Cockpit Professional.
M Sport: In addition the M Sport 5 Series Saloon has 18-inch or 19-inch M light alloy wheels depending on the model chosen, high-gloss Shadowline exterior trim, LED fog lights, M aerodynamic bodystyling, Anthracite headlining and M Sport brakes available on specific models.
What's Changed in the Performance?
There are a range of options available for the BMW 5 Series Saloon from four-cylinder diesel engines to six-cylinder diesel and petrol offerings with four-wheel xDrive upgrades and even a plug-in hybrid option.Two stand out options in the range include the 520d diesel with four-cylinder engine that reaches a brisk 0-62mph in 7.3 seconds and the brilliant 540i petrol six-cylinder engine that can get you to 62mph in under five seconds. There is also a hybrid 530e option available that delivers 248bhp and 420Nm torque, reaching 0-62mph in 6.1 seconds and travelling up to 36 miles on electricity alone thanks to BMWs latest 530e battery technology.
