The roots of the BMW brand extend back to 1916, when two German companies combined to form Bayerische Flugzeug-Werke AG (BFW). Later, a separate German company moved its engine construction operations, company and brand name to BFW and the two new companies became the brand that we know today. The iconic BMW emblem has now been displayed on the company’s products for a full century, having first been introduced in 1917.

BMW started out by making motorcycles, having originally produced only the engines. In 1928, it moved into automobile manufacturing, with its own designs arriving in 1932. When war broke out in 1939, BMW became involved in the production of aircraft and its operations were put on hold until, in 1948, the R 24 motorcycle was launched to great success. The first postwar automobile from BMW was the 501. Built from 1952, it was capable of holding up to six people, featured an enhanced six-cylinder engine, and confirmed BMW’s status as a manufacturer of high-quality luxury cars. Almost a decade later, BMW’s “new class” of car made its appearance with the presentation of the 1500 model in 1961. Orders for the new car far outstripped production capabilities, and during the 1960s BMW expanded its manufacturing. In 1984, the famous BMW 3 Series was launched, with the Z1 Roadster entering production four years later in 1988. In 1994, BMW opened a production facility in Spartanburg, South Carolina, where the Z3 Roadster was the first car to roll off the line. Today, the BMW X3, X4, X5, and X6 models are all manufactured there. In the same year, BMW also purchased the UK’s Rover Group and still owns the Mini brand today.

Just ahead of the new millennium in 1999, BMW launched an entirely new vehicle concept with the X5; a sports activity vehicle that combined BMW’s trademark dynamism and ability with the capabilities of an all-wheel-drive off-road vehicle. In 2001, the company launched the new Mini into the small-car segment and the car was met with rave reviews. In 2004, the 1 Series brought excellent driving dynamics and premium quality to the compact segment, and in 2013 BMW launched an entirely new project with the introduction of the fully electric i3.

2 Series

The BMW 2 Series is a unique car available in four separate body styles. The car comes in coupe, convertible, active tourer and gran tourer variants, each with a distinct set of benefits. 3 Series

The BMW 3 Series includes various body styles. The saloon is joined by the touring, gran turismo, and iPerformance saloon. There are also Aux and USB inputs, stability control, electronically folding wing mirrors, automatic emergency braking, and audio and cruise controls on the steering wheel.

The Saloon has a modern and sporty appearance with an elongated bonnet and long wheelbase accentuated by a sweeping roofline and a coupe-like silhouette. The car comes with striking LED headlights with adaptive technology adjusting illumination to driving conditions. The front end’s remodelled bumper includes intricately designed front air intakes that emphasise the car’s broad stance. Wide-set LED lights give the car a distinctive look even in darkness. Further distinctive elements include wider exhausts, a new and more athletic rim design, and an updated choice of colours.

The BMW 3 Series Touring features a highly modern design echoing that of the Saloon. 5 Series: Saloon; Touring

Our clients are able to lease a BMW 5 Series in one of two body types including the Saloon and 5 Series Touring. The BMW 5 Series Saloon is now in its seventh generation, and continues to make a powerful impression. The sloping roofline lends a coupe-like appearance to the saloon, and the wide rear end emphasises the car’s performance capabilities. Audiophiles will enjoy the Bowers & Wilkins Diamond surround sound system, which comes with two diamond tweeters and delivers excellent studio-quality sound through 16 speakers. The M Sport model features powerful air inlets and an exclusive aluminium patterned trim and anthracite roof liner. Assistance items include active cruise control, a BMW display key incorporating a remote control and touchscreen in one, and a range of connection services including Apple CarPlay and on-street parking information.

The 5 Series Touring adds further functionality to the 5 Series. The car provides maximum comfort, sporty design, and outstanding dynamics along with the space to allow for all kinds of kit and activities. The car includes a Bowers & Wilkins sound system with 16 speakers, and the M Sport model features an aluminium interior trim and anthracite roof liner. X1

The BMW X1 provides the whole family with the space and flexibility to take on adventure. Its broad stance and athletic features make it an unmistakable part of the BMW ‘X’ family, whilst levels of efficiency and versatility are class-leading. The new X1 has been fully redesigned to offer the maximum in space and luxury, with its looks featuring several quintessential X range elements.

The X1’s exterior is built around its long wheelbase and short overhangs typical of an adventure-ready SUV. The sculpted front bumper, broad wheel arches and athletic lines lend a significant presence to this compact, sporty model.

At the front, there are four LED daytime running lights with raised fog lights as standard on xLine and M Sport models, and the car rides on a set of 18” alloy wheels with exclusive X design. The dual sided exhaust pipes add to the car’s athletic appearance, and an optional fully surrounding satin-hued aluminium exterior adds a highly refined finish to the xLine model. Alternatively, show off with the new sunset orange exterior colour with metallic finish on xLine, SE, and Sport models. Sport and M models are both equipped with elements to bring out the car’s agile looks. The Sport features a unique high-gloss black exterior trim, whilst the M Sport features body-colour exterior touches in high gloss finish.

Lease a BMW X1, and inside you’ll find premium items including a sport leather steering wheel as standard, as well as BMW navigation with a new touchscreen and iDrive Touch Controller. X3

The BMW X3 features a new design that combines harmonious proportions with powerful contouring and a wide stance all housing a unique interior. At the front of the car is a set of BMW Icon Adaptive LED lights including low and high-beam headlights as well as turning indicators with full LED technology. Further features include BMW Selective Beam, cornering lights, daytime running LEDs and adaptive headlights with changeable light control for maximum illumination and visibility. At the rear is a set of three-dimensional LED lights in distinctive BMW L-shape. The car has been acoustically enhanced to make the interior of the X3 a veritable quiet zone. Optional acoustic glazing noticeably reduces outdoor sounds including wind noise.

There is an optional fully digital instrument cluster and a full-colour BMW head-up display putting all of the relevant information directly in the driver’s line of sight, meaning you can keep your eyes on the road at all times. The X3 xLine model includes matt aluminium detailing on the vertical grille slats, skid skirt panels, and underbody protection at the front and rear. Optional 20” light alloy wheels in grey finish complement an exclusive interior and first-class sport seats for driver and passenger. The M Sport includes M-model aerodynamic styling with a more prominent front apron and larger air inlets. The sporty exterior is added to with a set of 20” alloy wheels in double-spoke design and grey finish as well as a rear apron in dark metallic finish. The interior is finished off with leather seats and blue contrasting stitching.

Tech inside the X3 includes a pioneering new operating system with intuitive controls. Specific operations can be made using the intelligent voice or gesture control systems, and movements such as pointing or swiping in the recognition area above the centre console are all it takes to make calls or control the navigation system.

X4

The BMW X4 is an SUV in a class of its own, featuring dynamic styling that combines the solid stance of the X range SUVS with the sport silhouette of a coupe. The front is distinguished by its powerful air inlets and 20” M light alloy wheels on the M model, and the interior is fitted with a range of exciting features.

At the front, the adaptive LED headlights include low- and high-beam headlights as well as fully LED indicating lights. The LED indicators are located above a set of daytime running lights, emitting light from three-dimensional light tubes. The adaptive LEDs also feature anti-dazzle high-beam assist, LED fog lights, and cornering lights. Adaptive headlights with variable light control offer excellent illumination and improved nighttime visibility. A set of sporty bumpers, muscular wheel arches, and a broad stance emphasise the X design elements of the car. At the rear is a solidly sculpted bumper with a further set of LED lights.

We offer the option to lease a BMW X4 in a range of colours both inside and out. Particularly noticeable are the deep blue or metallic red exterior finishes. Interior options include a white Nevada leather trim with contrasting red stitching and fine-brushed aluminium trims, beige or brown leather with contrasting stitching and walnut trim, and a range of further options. The car’s elevated seat position delivers a perfect view over the road and the car itself. The Harmon Kardon sound system includes a digital amplifier with 600 W output and individually selectable equalising. There are 16 speakers including seven mid-range, seven tweeters, and two centre bass, and the car’s ambience is customisable with a range of ambient lighting options and extra wood or metal touches.

X5

The cockpit is designed to be clear and easily navigable, with the seating position putting you in command of the road ahead. All of the essential operating elements including the new iDrive touch controller, optional navigation system, and free-standing control display are faced towards the driver, whilst the interior mirror features automatic anti-glare functionality for increased safety. Optional electrically adjustable comfort seats for driver and front passenger make long-distance driving enjoyable, and an optional Bang & Olufsen surround sound system offers excellent sound performance.

X6

The BMW X6 is the most muscular and powerful performer of the X range, with its distinctive looks making this sports activity coupe stand out from the crowd. The car’s dimensions are broad, muscular, and dynamic, and combine the solidity of the BMW X range with a selection of sporting features. The front of the X6 is fitted with striking air inlets that suggest the power of the engine behind, and the large grille is typical of BMW. There is a pair of double headlights and fog lights positioned wide apart on the car to emphasise its stance. Viewed from the side, the coupe-like silhouette is set off by the chrome window surrounds. The rear of the car is impressively wide, and at the front the LED lights take centre stage. 7 Series

i3

The BMW i3 offers a boundary-pushing concept for sustainable motoring, combining inspiring design with premium finishes and an ethos of sustainability. The all-electric i3 makes an ideal emission-free city car. The i3 is powered by a fully emission-free electric motor that impresses with exceptional acceleration from both low speed and standstill, reaching 0-62mph in just 7.3 seconds. The high-voltage battery provides a range of up to 125 miles, letting you nip about the city without ever worrying about the range. Move off silently with the push of a pedal and, should you need to extend your driving range, you can opt for the optional range extender, taking the potential range to 206 miles using a small, rear-mounted, quiet two-cylinder petrol engine that automatically switches on when needed. Driver assistance features include a traffic jam assistant, park assist with rearview camera and optional self-steering, active cruise control, and speed limit information. The car’s power consumption sits at 12.6 kWh/100 km for the standard car, whilst the i3 with Range Extender delivers combined CO2 emissions of 12 g/km, power consumption of 11.3 kWg/100 km, and fuel consumption of 0.6 l/100 km. Inside, the car’s open atmosphere is elegantly crafted using a range of renewable and recycled raw materials, and tech kit includes Bluetooth and USB connectivity, hands-free calling, and ConnectedDrive services with app integration. The car comes with a sat-nav system, DAB radio, and daytime running LED lights.

M2 Coupe

The BMW M2 Coupe is the first of its kind, and combines sporting ability with rear-wheel drive and the precision and agility expected of a BMW M model. The front and rear aprons optimise aerodynamics, whilst sports suspension and the M TwinPower Turbo inline 6-cylinder petrol engine delivers excellent performance. A BMW M2 Coupe lease car comes with either a six speed manual or seven speed automatic transmission, with the manual making 0-62mph in 4.5 seconds and the automatic in 4.3 seconds. Inside, the M2 is kitted out with a carbon-look trim with leather sport seats and grey dials.
