BMW X1; Explore with Confidence
The BMW X1 is a compact and versatile off-road Sport Activity Vehicle (SAV) inclusive of BMW's powerful and dynamic TwinPower Turbo engines. Given a recent facelift the BMW X1 is pleasing on the eye and spacious on the inside, ready for an adventure whenever you are.
Athletic Proportions
The smallest SAV in the BMW X range the BMW X1 still packs a powerful punch with sporty proportions and typical BMW X traits. With a redesigned bumper, larger kidney grille and horizontal LED headlights the BMW X1 stands out of the crowd. To the rear the recent facelift also provides re-designed LED tail lights and enlarged 90mm tailpipes. Inside there is plenty of headspace and adjustable rear seats that can be rearranged to create a feeling of spaciousness. With a nicely laid out dashboard and intuitive 8.8-inch touch screen infotainment display, which comes inclusive with a satellite navigation system, you can add Apple CarPlay and an exquisite Harman Kardon sound system for an additional cost. For boot space, the BMW X1 has a large 505 litre capacity that is more than enough space for a few suitcases, a set of golf clubs or baby strollers. And for additional space, you can fold the three-way (40:20:40) split rear seats for a maximum storage capacity of 1,550 litres. BMW xDrive provides proficient agility when driving on or off road, which is complimented by optional Adaptive suspension and a choice of powerful engines across the BMW X1 range.
Specification
The BMW X1 is available in four model lines: SE, Sport, X Line, and the M Sport.
SE: The BMW X1 SE comes as standard with 17-inch alloy wheels, clever BMW Active Guard assists that will help prevent collisions and provide speed limit information, LED headlights, 40:20:40 split-folding rear seats, cruise control with braking function, an 8.8-inch infotainment system with BMW navigation, dual-zone climate control, an auto-dimming rearview mirror and front and rear park distance control.
Sport: In addition to the SE model the BMW X1 Sport includes upgraded 18-inch sport alloy wheels, cloth Nivala and Sensatec upholstery, black high-gloss Pearl Chrome and blackened alloy wheels, matching high-gloss black roof rails and the exterior trim is finished in BMW’s high-gloss Shadow line with sport front and rear bumpers in black with sports seats to the front.
X Line: In addition to the Sport model the BMW xLine includes 18-inch xLine alloy wheels, black high-gloss interior trim with Dakota leather upholstery, and contrast stitching. There are lots of Chrome accents to the xLine Model thanks to a Satin Aluminium xLine Exterior trim including satin Aluminium kidney grille, exterior trim, roof rails. Complemented by front heated seats, electric folding exterior mirrors, and extended lighting with BMW logo projection.
M Sport: The BMW M Sport Model includes the luxury of the xLine Model with these additions as standard: 18-inch M Sport light-alloy wheels, M Aerodynamic exterior styling with M Sport suspension, and M Sport leather steering wheel. The exterior trim is high-gloss Shadowline with Anthracite headlining and there is an aluminum interior trim with Estoril Blue finisher and heated front seats.
A Great All Rounder
The BMW X1 is available in a choice of two diesel and two petrol engine options, with an automatic gearbox and four-wheel drive depending on the model chosen. If you are looking for the most economical X1 then the 18d 2.0 litre diesel could be your best choice with 150 hp and a fuel economy of 68.9 mpg. For those looking for a more athletic BMW X1 model, the 190 hp 20d BMW X1 can hit 0-62 mph in 7.8 seconds and also makes a great motorway cruiser. Fun to drive yet still practical the BMW X1 responds rapidly when choosing to change gear yourself, otherwise, the 8-speed automatic gearbox smoothly changes gear with ease and is great for both town driving and motorway driving alike. The BMW X1's parking sensor helps you fit into those tight parking spots in the city, whilst wind noise is kept to a minimum at top speeds on the motorway. If you also fancy a bit of off-road driving, it ain't half bad at that either. Making the BMW X1 a great all-round SAV.
● Standard engine size: 2L
● 0-62mph: 9 sec
● MPG: 68.9
