A Sporty SUV

The BMW X 3 is available in two petrol and two diesel engine options, all with four-wheel drive and an 8-speed automatic gearbox. For city drivers a two-litre petrol would be a good option, which claims to run at 39.8 mpg. Motorway drivers should pick the 20d or 30d diesel model that will return 40 and 45 mpg. For sports performance the M40i has a 6-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that hits 0-62 mph in just 4.8 seconds providing a whopping 360 hp. It goes without saying that the BMW X3 has great visibility on the road.
