The Ford Ranger; A Force To Be Reckoned With
The Ford Ranger is the ultimate in Pick-Up Truck driving with a modern, rugged, and stylish design. Packed with plenty of technology and outstanding performance the Ford Ranger is a force to be reckoned with. It is no shock that the Ford Ranger has been named the International Pick-Up Award winner for 2020
An Impressive Pick-Up
The Ford Ranger is a five-seater Pick-Up Truck with an impressive 1-tonne loading capacity, plenty of Ford technology, and SYNC 3 connectivity that lets you control and monitor your Ford Ranger through the FordPass app on your smartphone. Within the range, the Bi-Turbo EcoBlue engine option is powerful and efficient providing 500Nm and 213PS, supported by a 10-speed auto transmission. Intelligent Traffic Sign Recognition uses intelligent speed assist to help maintain the correct speed on the road while lane keep assist is on hand to keep you on track at all times. Whatever the terrain you are ready to drive, even with a full load thanks to features including hill descent control, while goods are secured in the back thanks to a lockable roller shutter. Rearview parking and optional park assist technology also make every maneuver effortless. The Ford Ranger has an outstanding 3.5-tonne towing capacity meaning you can go further and explore farther with the new Ford Ranger. All models have 1.56-meter wide pick up beds but the cab length varies. The Single Cab has 2.32-meter beds, the Super Cab gets 1.85 meters while the Double Cabs carry items up to 1.55 meters in length; still large enough for an industrial pallet.
Plenty of Model Choice
The Ford Ranger is available in three dimensions; The Regular Cab 4x4, Super Cab 4x4, and the Double Cab 4x4, with five model lines: XL, XLT, Limited, Wildtrak, Raptor.
XL: Key features include 16-inch steel alloy wheels, body coloured front bumper, lane-keeping system and emergency brake assist, rear mudflaps, electronically operated and heated door mirrors, auto start-stop function, cruise control, and 6-way adjustable driver's seat.
XLT: The XLT comes with 16-inch alloy wheels, chrome finishes to the grille, under-run bar, chrome door handles and mirror caps, front fog lights, loadbox bedliner with 12v socket, power tailgate lock, automatic headlights, and rain sensors with a leather-trimmed steering wheel, overhead console and 4.2 inch TFT screen with Bluetooth and DAB radio.
Limited: The Limited Ranger comes with 17-inch silver alloy wheels, keyless entry, rearview camera and parking sensors, chrome tubular sports bar, rear privacy glass, and EasyLift tailgate complete with Ford power starter button, Ford SYNC 3 connectivity with an 8-inch touchscreen, 8-way adjustable heated driver's seat, leather interior, cool box to centre console and range logo floor mats.
Wildtrak: The Ranger Wildtrak features 18-inch alloy wheels, aerodynamic sports hoop with load box illumination, titanium effect grille and door handles, aluminum roof rails, and titanium effect electrically operated power heated and foldable mirrors. Inside there are partial leather seats, ambient lighting, Wildtrak logo floor mats, Ford's SYNC3, and an 8-inch touchscreen.
Raptor: The Raptor enjoys 17-inch alloy wheels with all-terrain tyres, unique raptor front grille, front aluminum skid plate, FOX pro shock absorbers, four off-road tow hooks, loadbox shutter with carry bars and a tow bar. Inside there are unique suede trim heated and power adjustable seats with perforated leather steering wheel with the Raptor logo, an instrument panel cluster, an 8-inch touchscreen with Ford SYNC 3, and a terrain management system with 6 driving modes.
Fun yet Practical
The Ford Ranger is currently available in a range of four diesel engines starting with an entry 130hp model up to a 213hp family member. All engines have a six-speed manual gearbox. If you are looking for the ultimate pick-up truck to carry heavy loads we would recommend going for the 213hp engine that can include a 10-speed automatic gearbox and help power through carrying the maximum loading weight of 3,500kg. On the road, the Ford Ranger's height and width make it pretty easy to see what's happening at all times while optional parking sensors allow you to accommodate the elongated bonnet and width of the Ford Ranger with ease. With a lean body, the Ranger does a pretty great job of absorbing lumps and bumps in the road. If you are looking for adventure then the top-spec Ford Ranger Raptor can be driven off-road and comes with special off-road tyres, chassis reinforcement, and upgraded suspension, so you can enjoy thrill and adventure driving on all terrains. No matter the function you are after there is a Ford Ranger for you.
